We are seeking a compassionate and organized Pediatric Resource Specialist – Behavioral Health to serve as a trusted guide for families throughout their care journey.

Position Overview

The Pediatric Resource Specialist (PRS) partners closely with families, clinical teams, and community organizations to support access to neurodevelopmental, behavioral health, and pediatric specialty services. This role serves as a key resource for families from initial intake and diagnosis through service planning, care coordination, and ongoing navigation of available supports.

The PRS works collaboratively with physicians, therapists, psychologists, care navigators, and community providers to help ensure children receive timely and appropriate services across the continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide family-centered support, resource navigation, and service coordination for children receiving neurodevelopmental and pediatric specialty services.
• Conduct outreach and follow-up with families after evaluations, diagnoses, or program enrollment.
• Assist families in accessing internal and external services, including therapy programs, specialty care, behavioral health services, and community resources.
• Help families overcome barriers to care, including language differences, health literacy challenges, and healthcare system complexities.
• Maintain and update community resource directories and referral materials.
• Serve as a liaison between families and multidisciplinary care teams to facilitate communication and coordinated care.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external providers to support seamless service delivery.
• Document family interactions, care plans, referrals, and coordination activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Develop and maintain educational materials to help families understand available programs and service pathways.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on family engagement, access to care, and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education

Required

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

• Master's degree in a related field.

Preferred areas of study:

• Social Work
• Education
• Psychology
• Public Health or Community Health
• Human Services
• Related healthcare or human services disciplines

Experience

Required

• Minimum one (1) year of experience providing direct patient, family, or client support in a healthcare, educational, or human services setting.

Preferred

• Experience with care coordination, case management, family navigation, intake, or referral processes.
• Familiarity with pediatric healthcare systems, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, special education, or early intervention services.
• Knowledge of therapy services (Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy), NICU Follow-Up programs, autism services, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs) and Microsoft Office applications.
