Additional Information About the Role

BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Certified Radiation Therapist for Proton Therapy at Siteman Cancer Center – Proton Therapy Center located at Barnes-Jewish

 

Position Details:

  • Day Shift Hours:  Mon-Fri (4 Shifts per Week @ 10 hour shifts)
  • NO Weekends, Holidays, Call, or Overnight Shift!!!
  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Proton Therapy
  • Deliver prescribed proton radiation treatments
  • Imaging - Radiation Therapy & Dosimetry
  • Experience with ARIA/Varian systems & proton therapy preferred but not required

Requirements:

  • Completed an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • Board Certified by the ARRT
  • RT(T)

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Radiation Oncology Department houses a variety of therapeutic equipment, including 8 linear accelerators; a full Brachytherapy suite; a Gamma Knife center; two CT simulators and a dedicated MRI unit.¿ Radiation Oncology is also building a proton facility due to open in January 2010.¿ The department supports two radiation therapy technology programs and a medical dosimeter programs via affiliations with local universities.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs patient treatments utilizing ionizing radiation under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient and chart prior to start of procedure.  
  • Delivers accurate and consistent treatments to patients.
  • Completes treatment process and coordinates patient scheduling.
  • Minimum Requirements
