- Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

What You'll Do
Patient Evaluation & Treatment
- Perform comprehensive speech-language pathology evaluations upon referral.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Administer evidence-based therapies and treatment techniques in accordance with departmental standards.
- Reassess patient progress regularly and update goals as needed.
- Provide swallowing, communication, cognitive, and rehabilitative therapy services across the lifespan.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and patient outcomes accurately and timely.
Patient & Family Education
- Educate patients and families on treatment goals, home programs, precautions, and expected outcomes.
- Provide written home exercise and therapy instructions prior to discharge.
- Empower caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to support recovery and ongoing therapy efforts.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with physicians, therapists, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and support services when needed.
- Communicate patient progress and treatment recommendations professionally and effectively.
Professional Development & Leadership
- Participate in departmental education, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities.
- Attend staff meetings and required hospital training programs.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members.
- Supervise Speech-Language Pathology students in accordance with organizational standards and policies.
Qualifications
Required Education
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Required Licensure
- Current or Provisional Speech-Language Pathologist License in the applicable state of practice.
Required Certifications
- American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certification within one year of hire (extensions may be granted at the discretion of leadership and clinical fellowship supervisor).
- Current BLS Certification.
- All required certifications must remain current before independently providing patient care.
Preferred Experience
- One year of Speech-Language Pathology experience preferred.
- Experience treating patients across all age groups preferred.
